Frequently asked questions

Which gin rummy rules does this support?

Standard tournament gin rummy: knocks up to 10 deadwood, gin and big gin bonuses, undercuts, box bonuses and a game bonus that doubles on a shutout. All values can be customised in the settings card.

What's an undercut?

If a player knocks but the opponent's deadwood (after laying off) is the same or lower, the opponent wins the round and scores the difference plus a 25-point undercut bonus. Just record the actual deadwood values — we detect undercuts for you.

What's the difference between gin and big gin?

Gin is when you have zero deadwood after discarding (worth a 25-point bonus). Big gin is when you go gin without discarding (worth 31 in standard rules). The opponent never lays off against gin.
